The School of Agriculture and Science at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) is one of two Schools within the College of Agriculture, Engineering and Science (CAES) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). As a dynamic centre of teaching, learning, and research, the School plays a key role in advancing scientific knowledge and developing practical solutions in fields essential to South Africa’s development and global sustainability. The School operates across the Pietermaritzburg and Westville campuses, offering a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Our disciplines span both core sciences and applied fields, providing students with strong academic foundations and real-world skills needed to thrive in academia, industry, and community development.
We are actively engaged in addressing some of the most pressing global and regional challenges — including food security, climate change, environmental sustainability, and the urgent demand for scientific and technological innovation.
