Dr Lelethu Mdoda is a Senior Lecturer and Researcher in the Discipline of Agricultural Economics at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, PMB Campus. He holds MSc and PhD in Agricultural Economics. Dr Mdoda is an astute National Research Foundation (NRF) rated researcher (“Y2 rating”). Dr Mdoda is a well-versed lecturer with over 10 years of experience in the field of Agricultural Economics. As a Lecturer, I teach classes and supervise undergraduate, Masters, and PhD students.
He has written extensively on rural development and sustainability, impact evaluations, resource and environmental economics, entrepreneurial development of smallholder farmers, livestock economics, agribusiness, food and safety security, climate change adaptability of smallholder agriculture, technology transfer and adoption, collective action, and value chain analysis. He is serving as a reviewer for various internationally-accredited journals. He serves as an external examiner for both local and international institutes for undergraduate and postgraduate students. He also works as a consultant to farmers and NGOs. So far, he has published more than 30 peer-reviewed journal articles in accredited DHET Journals.
