Biography

In 2014, Dr Maningi received a PHRI-AURUM-Global Infectious Disease Research Training Program (Fellowship) award, to go to The University of Texas in San Antonio & Longhorn Vaccines and Diagnostics, Texas, USA.  She worked as an intern scientist at the South African Medical Research Council, TB Platform Unit in Pretoria from 2011 to 2015. She then worked for one year (2015-2016) as a Medical Scientist at National Health Laboratory Services at Albert Luthuli Hospital in Durban. In April 2016, she worked as a senior lecturer at the University of Pretoria, Department of Medical Microbiology until January 2020.

  • Antimicrobial Molecular diagnostic makers for Mycobacterium Tuberculosis
  • Genotyping of Mycobaterium Tuberculosis
  • Epidemiological studies of ESBLs and CREs
