Biography

Dr Desai is a human geography lecturer who holds a MA and a PhD in geography. 

She has supervised many honours,masters and PhD students within the field of urban and rural studies.

  • Food security and rural livelihoods, 
  • Rural service provision especially relating to water and sanitation issues,  
  • Off-farm income generating opportunities,  
  • Land tenure issues, 
  • Indigenous knowledge systems and climate change.

  •  Environmental issues and migration.
