Biography

Dr Zamalotshwa Thungo is a Plant Breeder with background involvement in wheat improvement to enhance environmental stress tolerance, and grain yield and nutritional quality in crops such as wheat and cowpea. She is published with more than 10 scientific publications in various DHET accredited journals. She is currently involved as a Lecturer to teach undergraduate and postgraduate Plant Breeding modules at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and participate in research and community engagement-based activities.

  • Genetic diversity analysis using molecular markers
  • Multi-environment trials (METs) analysis using GxE and AMMI analyses
