Dr Beukes holds a PhD in Microbiology and has 8 years’ experience in modern electron and specialized light microscopy techniques for materials, nanoscience, and biological research. She has been involved in teaching components of the short course in Microscopy and Microanalysis to postgraduate students for 8 years, in addition to being involved in various microscopy and microbiology-related research projects through collaboration with local and international peers. Currently, she has a total of 24 peer-reviewed publications, a google h-index of 21, and a total citation record of over 1400. She currently has a Y2 rating from the NRF.
