Biography
Festo Massawe is a Crop Scientist with over 25 years international research and capacity building experience. He is the former Head of School of Biosciences at the University of Nottingham Malaysia (2012-2018). Prof Massawe’s research is focused on improving productivity, quality and value of food crops especially of minor and underutilized species with strong interests in building sustainable and resilient food systems. He has published over 100 journal articles, book chapters and conference proceedings, supervised 25 PGR students and coordinated research activities involving multiple countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and America. He is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy, UK.
