PhD

Prof Hewer is a Biochemistry Lecturer in the School of Life Sciences. His research group is involved in the field of early-stage drug discovery with a particular interest in the design and discovery of novel compounds that inhibit or otherwise modulate disease-relevant enzymes or the proteosomal degradation pathway.

A broad range of techniques including molecular modelling, assay development and biochemical screening are employed in this pursuit. Work emanating from his lab, and through collaboration with local and international research groups, has been published and presented at local and international conferences.

Research Interests
