Prof Terry Olckers is an applied entomologist whose research focuses on the biological control of invasive alien plants. Prior to joining UKZN in 2004, he spent 16 years with the ARC-Plant Protection Research Institute’s Weeds Research Division as a Senior Researcher. Research by him and his team of postgraduate students has resulted in the publication of some 80 journal articles and scholarly works on weed biocontrol. He also collaborates with national organizations like the ARC-Plant Health & Protection and international organizations like Landcare Research (New Zealand) and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (Australia).
