Prof Vincent O. Nyamori is a Professor at the School of Chemistry and Physics, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa. Prof Nyamori is a former South African Chemical Institute (SACI) President. He is a Fellow of the South African Chemical Institute (FSACI), a Fellow of the Royal Society of South Africa (FRSSAf) and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC). Also, he is South Africa’s Representative to the Federation of Commonwealth Chemical Sciences Societies. Prof Nyamori is an Associate Editor for the RSC Sustainability journal, published by the Royal Society of Chemistry, United Kingdom. Prof Nyamori is a recipient of the Merck Medal Award and the Vice-Chancellor’s Award.
His research interests include Green and Sustainable Chemistry, Nanotechnology and Materials Science. His NanoChemistry Research Group is interested in advancing carbon-based nanomaterials, including biomass, organic-inorganic hybrid nanomaterials and perovskites, particularly for fabricating solar cells and energy storage devices. Also, apart from nanomaterial science, his research group has a vast interest in sustainable chemistry and renewable materials for water remediation and catalysis.
