Mr Yaser Alli’s affinity for tackling the complex by developing innovative solutions led him to pursue a BSc in Computer Science. His academic excellence earned him the 50th Anniversary Award scholarship, presented to a senior undergraduate student who has excelled in their degree.
A family-oriented person, he chose the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) for his tertiary studies, enabling him to stay close to home while benefiting from the University’s strong offerings in Computer Science. He plans to pursue an honours degree and is considering taking his studies even further.
“I have really enjoyed the friendly learning environment and the challenging coursework we are given,” said Alli.
Receiving this scholarship is meaningful to Alli, particularly as it eases the financial burden of tuition on his parents.
Beyond his studies, Alli hopes to enter industry and expand his skill set through exposure to different technological environments.
Alongside his academic commitments, he maintains his connection to God through daily prayer and cherishes time spent with his family.
Alli thanked his family for their constant support and encouragement, which have enabled him to excel.
